Pop superstar Jungkook says he hasn't been using Instagram - so he deleted it.

Members of the BTS ARMY got themselves a bit of a shock this Tuesday afternoon after Jungkook, the band's youngest member, deleted his Instagram account.

Jungkook made the announcement on the fan interaction app Weverse, where he assured fans that he was not hacked and that since he didn't use Instagram, he just “deleted” it.

While fans first speculated that Jungkook may have just deactivated his Instagram account and not deleted it, further posts from the pop superstar confirmed that the app has been deleted and that he would be using Weverse from this point on.

Weverse is the proprietary fan platform owned and created by HYBE, a company whose acts include BTS, TXT, Seventeen, NewJeans, and Le Sserafim.

Before deleting his account, Jungkook had around 50 million followers. The only people he followed on Instagram were his fellow band members in BTS, all of whom have a following count ranging from 42 to 57 million people.

Jungkook, just like the rest of the members of BTS, is currently taking a break from group activities and pursuing solo activities as well as enlisting in the South Korean military. So far, eldest member Jin has enlisted in the military. BTS dance leader J-hope has also announced his decision to fulfill mandatory military services this year.

Meanwhile, BTS member Suga has announced his first solo tour with stops in Belmont Park, Newark, Rosemont, Los Angeles, Oakland, Jakarta, Bangkok, Singapore, Seoul, and Japan.
