
IU reached another social media milestone after hitting 20 million followers on her official Instagram account.
Fans congratulated her through her most recent post, which quickly gained over 3 million likes, The K-Pop singer shared several photos of her in a red lippie from what appears to be a photoshoot.
Aside from hitting the 20 million mark, IU recently won first place for the seventh time in SBS's music show Inkigayo for her comeback track LILAC, entitling her to a 'triple crown' after winning first place for three weeks in a row.
IU, whose real name is Lee Ji-eun, celebrated the occasion with a screenshot of her recent number of followers captioned, “20 million people are watching me.” She is currently the 12th most followed Korean personality on the said platform.

BLACKPINK Lisa currently holds first place in the ranking of Most Followed K-Pop Idols on Instagram with more than 50.7 million followers. She is followed by fellow members Jennie, Rosé, and Jisoo.
Other Korean pop stars who hold an influential status on the platform are EXO members Chanyeol, Sehun, and Baekhyun, BIGBANG's G-Dragon, GOT7 member Jackson and SNSD member Taeyeon.
To celebrate the birthday of actor Lee Joon-gi, a NaverNOW event called DREAM was held for the actor. In a surprise call during the event, IU talked about her friendship with her co-stars and how they all shared great memories during their time on set.
“I think all of us who filmed the drama probably feel the same way. We had such a great time filming it, and even now, there are so many people who love the drama. Isn't that amazing?”
Later on, they dished about the supposed alternate ending they filmed and how IU saw no reason not to reprise her role as Hae Soo in the hit Korean drama that first aired six years ago.
“I do feel sad that we couldn't show fans the scene where Wang So and Hae Soo meet, but your visuals were also amazing. In the modern day scene, where you have short hair and dressed in a suit. Your visuals in that scene where you handed me a handkerchief--it was really a shame that it didn't make it on TV. Your fans would have gone wild if that had aired.”
The cliffhanger ending to Scarlet Heart left many of its fans at the edge of their seats hoping for a second season. Although unrealistically impossible now, the two former stars of the drama are still interested whether or not it picks up.
