Kazel Kinouchi shares her story of growing up in a broken family
Kazel, together with Kylie Padilla, made a guest appearance on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda to promote the new GMA Afternoon Prime series titled their new afternoon soap My Father's Wife.
During the interview, Kazel admitted to King of Talk Boy Abunda that she never had the chance to meet her Japanese father.
“I've never got to meet him. Kahit sa picture wala talaga ako idea how he looks like.” she told the King of Talk.
She continued, "And I never asked, kasi, I didn't want to put my mom in that situation. Kasi, nung time na curious na ako, wala na siya. He passed [away] na.”
Despite growing up in a broken family, Kazel happily shared that she didn't feel any void because she was surrounded by love from her extended family.
“Never ko na-feel 'yun, kasi nga I grew up in a loving family so, kasama ko sa bahay my Lola, my Tita, my Uncle. So, never ko talaga nafeel 'yung void.”
“So, hindi ko talaga siya hinanap growing up.”
The Abot-Kamay na Pangarap actress also mentioned that she grew closer to her grandmother since her mom was working abroad.
Boy then asked Kazel, “Have you forgiven your mom for not being present all the time? Mga panahon na kailangan mo siya. Have you forgiven dad, that is why you are this strong?”
Kazel replied, “Yes, I have forgiven na rin. Pero siyempre, kinuwestiyon ko rin 'yun. When my life was parang ang daming nangyari sa buhay ko na it could have been different, if I was raised in a complete family. 'Yung may mom, may dad. Kasi, iniisip ko growing up, meron akong daddy issues, may ganun.”
“So, I long for alam mo 'yun you find parang comfort in men, parang ganun, kasi nga wala nga ako dad. So, mabilis akong ma-fall, mabilis akong ma-in love ganun.”
