Seasoned TV-movie actor Gabby Concepcion is now in the middle of promoting his brand-new serye with the Kapuso Network titled My Father's Wife.
Viewers and his loyal fans last saw him in My Guardian Alien with Kapuso Primetime Queen Marian Rivera. This time, he will return in the Afternoon Prime slot--a familiar space since he was part of the viral and high-rating series Ika-6 Na Utos.
In an interview with the entertainment press at the GMA Afternoon Prime Grand Media Day on Monday, June 16, the former matinee idol praised their director Aya Topacio's own style of directing.
Direk Aya was the associate director of Dominic Zapata in the GMA Prime series Pulang Araw.
“I've worked with her before, pero she was not the director.
“I like her approach. Now that she is the director, she has her style. And then may puso si Direk [Aya], she has consideration.” Gabby told the press.
According to Gabby, it was his first time working with most of his co-actors in My Father's Wife that is why he suggested to the team behind the program that they have a workshop.
Gabby explained, “Lahat sila ngayon ko lang makakasama except for Snooky [Serna]. Hindi ko nabanggit kanina, but really what's interesting is nung nakasama ko sila, sabi ko 'it will be nice if we have a workshop.'
“Because I don't know them, hindi ko pa sila nakakatrabaho, which is good also, kasi maganda 'yung start from scratch. Wala kang dating role na ginawa with them. So bagong paghahanap. 'Who are you? What are you going to do? What kind of relationship with this girl, with that girl?' I love it.”
Acting alongside Gabby and Snooky in My Father's Wife are Kylie Padilla, Jak Roberto, and Kazel Kinouchi. Also part of the cast are Maureen Larrazabal, Sue Prado, Andre Paras, and Arlene Muhlach.
Catch the world premiere of My Father's Wife next Monday on June 23, after It's Showtime!
