Kelvin Miranda on being a celebrity: "Ayoko rin siya minsan parang nakakasira siya sa mental health ko"

Kapuso star Kelvin Miranda bravely shared his story and struggles with his past and mental health during an episode of Toni Gonzaga's online video series, Toni Talks. In the interview, the Kapuso artist surprised viewers with several revelations about his upbringing and his journey in dealing with his role as an actor.

One of the most surprising revelations was his admission that he never aspired to be a celebrity initially. Kelvin entered showbiz at a young age out of necessity to support his family financially. While he initially enjoyed playing different roles, which he referred to as his "playground," he eventually realized that being in the spotlight can affect his mental health.

Nagkakaroon ng episodes," he said.

Kelvin disclosed that he had been diagnosed with bipolar I, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), mild dyslexia, and post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). He sought diagnosis after recognizing patterns of impulsive behavior, breakdowns, and difficulty separating himself from his characters off-camera.

When asked about his PTSD, Kelvin revealed "Naabuso din kasi po ako noong bata ako. Hindi ko alam kung paano ko makakalimutan."

Instead of dwelling on the pain, he has embraced it and focused on grounding himself through meditation, prayer, and avoiding social media, where he feels vulnerable to criticism.

Despite the hardships he faced, Kelvin views everything that has happened to him as significant in shaping the person he is today. He believes in the importance of moving forward and not dwelling on the past, as it cannot be changed. His motto, "Your present needs your presence," reflects his commitment to living in the moment.

Currently, Kelvin is set to star in the GMA fantasy series Encantadia Chronicles: Sang'gre alongside a new generation of Sang'gres, including Angel Guardian, Faith Da Silva, and Bianca Umali. Additionally, his film Chances Are, You and I, co-starring Kira Balinger, is now showing in cinemas nationwide.
