Before Kokoy de Santos rose to fame in the online boys love (BL) series Gameboys, he has already done some commercials that aired in the late 2000s and early 2010s.

Kokoy starred in the commercial of a pancit canton brand, where he drew a mustache to showed that he was already an adult and can eat the sweet and spicy flavor.

Now that he has found success in Gameboys, Kokoy has some piece of advice to his younger self.

He said, “Tama 'yan, wala kang dapat pagsisihan.”

“Kung hindi mo pinagpaguran at hindi mo binigay lahat 'yan, walang ganito ngayon.”

After Gameboys, Kokoy is set to do another boys love series, which he believes will not in any way cause him to be typecast in a certain type of role.

He expressed, “Wala naman problema kasi mayroon naman tayong nire-represent na character na talagang may pinaglalaban naman, may bibig, 'di ba?”

“Ang sa akin, kaya tayo nata-typecast, tayong mga aktor, dahil alam nila na nagwo-work tayo sa ganung role.

“Walang problema doon.”

Meanwhile, his co-star and love interest in Gameboys, Elijah Canlas, expressed his support for Kokoy's new series.

He said, “Pero si Kokoy kasi, when he does a character, when he does something, kahit may similarities, ibang iba sa previous character niya.

“Si Gavreel, ibang iba sa ginawa niya sa F#*@bois, and I'm sure yung gagawin niya sa bago niyang show, ibang iba rin at sa iba niya pang gagawing show, kasi Kokoy is built like that.”

Kokoy starred in the 2019 Cinemalaya movie F#*@bois, alongside Royce Cabrera and Ricky Davao.

In that movie, Kokoy and Royce portray two males who join bikini contests. Later on, they figure in a scandal with a closeted town mayor, played by Ricky.
