So Ji-sub will be taking on the lead role for upcoming MBC drama, Dr. Lawyer.
This is going to be the Korean actor's long-awaited return since his last series My Secret Terrius in 2018.
According to the report from K-entertainment site Soompi, So Ji-sub's character, Han Yi Han, was a genius double-board certified doctor with specialties in both general surgery and thoracic surgery, before he became a medical malpractice lawyer after a woeful incident.
This career change was due to a fabricated surgery, unbeknown to his character, resulting in his disqualification as a doctor.
In pursuit of seeking justice, after becoming a medical malpractice lawyer, he chases down the truth behind the incident and punishes those who believe that a person's life can be ranked based on their wealth and power.
Fans expressed their excitement on Twitter over the announcement.
Twitter user @alou68charm wrote: "I'm glad that my first Oppa is ready to sizzle on our TV set soon."
