Kris Aquino on her son Bimby's 16th birthday: 'You are the reason I can't give up….'
Kris Aquino's son, Bimby Aquino Yap, turned 16 years old on Wednesday, April 19.
On Instagram, the celebrity mom shared "then and now" photos with her youngest child.
Along with her post is a lengthy and emotional birthday greeting for Bimby.
Kris wrote, “You are the reason I can't give up, and I continue fighting what at times feels like a losing battle. But if there's one thing I'm proud of, since the day you were born- [five] weeks early, weighing barely [four] pounds, I've kept my word, never breaking any promises I made to you."
The Queen of All Media also took a trip down memory lane as she remembers the first moments they found out about her autoimmune conditions. Kris also mentioned how she strongly prayed to God to keep her alive until his son reached the legal age on April 19, 2025.
“On that cruel night, in late September 2018, we had a preview of the 1st [two] autoimmune conditions I had, and we were so afraid of the possible 3rd- we were crying as we embraced. I'll NEVER forget forcing myself to reassure the 11-year-old you like your Lola: I'll endure anything and everything, to make sure you had me for as long as you needed me.
“I even vividly remember my prayer: God I ask for nothing more BUT the gift of resilience [and] FAITH for me to still be alive and cognizant on April 19, 2025, when Bimb officially becomes an adult…please prepare him well for the lifelong responsibilities he'll have when it's his turn to be his kuya's guardian. Just [two] more years, every year after, let's treat it as an unexpected gift from heaven” she continued.
Kris also expressed her gratitude to the Lord for answering her prayers and thanked her two sons, Bimby and Josh, for making her shine as a mom.
“The [two] of you make me shine as a mom, with kuya [and] you- I feel just how REAL God's love is, and how despite what our family is going through- we remain blessed much more than what we could have prayed for,” she added.
Kris Aquino has been diagnosed with various autoimmune diseases and has been staying in America for her medical treatments.
