Breakthrough actress Krystel Go of the Metro Manila Film Festival entry I'mPerfect has won the Best Actress in a Leading Role at the highly anticipated Gabi ng Parangal on Saturday, December 27, in Makati.
Krystel, a person with Down Syndrome, won against Nadine Lustre of Call Me Mother, Angelica Panganiban of UnMarry, and Bianca De Vera of Love You So Bad.
In her acceptance speech, Krystel turned emotional when she expressed her delight and gratitude for winning the prestigious award.
“Maraming salamat po sa award na 'to. 'Di po ako makapaniwala na nanalo ako. Mommy and daddy, para po sa inyo 'to -- best actress na po ako,” said Krystel.
The actress also recognized the production staff, creative team, and her fellow casts for I'mPerfect.
She also mentioned her “mamang nanay” Sylvia Sanchez.
At the end of her speech, Krystel said it was a dream come true.
Maraming-maraming salamat po,” she said.
