Kuya Kim Atienza and Kiray Celis join campaign to protect online identity by registering SIMs.

Kuya Kim Atienza and Kiray Celis were humorously "hacked" recently by talented stand-up comedians and improv artists impersonating them on their respective social media accounts.

This entertaining act aimed to warn the public about online identity theft and to take measures to protect their digital identity. These measures include registering their SIMs, especially for prepaid numbers, which deadline is on July 25.

In a press conference prepared by Globe, the Tiktoclock host reminded everyone the importance of SIM registration. He said, “Ang number natin ay nakakabit sa ating digital o online identity.”

Because of the “identity takeover” on his social media accounts, Kuya Kim said, “Sa experience na ito, marami akong natutunan, kailangan nating maging maingat sa ating identity kahit sa online space lang ito.

He further stressed, “Number mo, identity mo.

Kiray, on the other hand, shared a real hacking she experienced recently to prove that it's important to protect one's digital identity.

In a statement, Globe's chief of sustainability and corporate communication Yolly Crisanto said, "Online safety is a pressing issue in today's digital age. Through this unique initiative, we hope to drive home the point that our SIMs are a crucial part of our digital identity and must be protected. We also want to remind our prepaid customers that they need to register their SIMs by the July 25 deadline. We urge all Globe customers to register their SIMs now.”
