Lea Salonga has high hopes that the improved vaccine rollout will revitalize the industry.

Fresh from her stint as a presenter at the 74th Tony Awards, Lea Salonga shared her desire for the live events industry to come back to life.

In her Instagram post, the Tony Award-winning actress shared a photo of a cloth face mask and an access pass, saying that they were the only souvenirs she had from the recently-concluded Tony Awards. She also shared that the memories of the night and the live performances would be more lasting.

She then expressed her hope that the live events industry in the Philippines can spring back to life just like Broadway did during the Tonys.

Broadway definitely lit back up again during the Tony Awards, showcasing performances from 2019 and 2020 productions like Jagged Little Pill, Ain't Too Proud, and American Utopia. Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth, the original stars of Wicked, also performed “Something Good” as part of the four-hour show.

While waiting for the live events industry in the country to pick up, Lea will be busy with “Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin” where she will be playing Elodie, Minnie's (Malia Pyles) overbearing mother.

Lea is just one of the Filipino actors with international acting exposure. Check out the others in the gallery below.
