People around the world mourn the tragic loss of former One Direction member and solo artist Liam Payne.
Fans and family expressed shock at the news of the British artist's passing after he accidentally fell from the third floor of a hotel balcony in Argentina. Local officials confirmed, "Liam James Payne, composer and guitarist, former member of the band One Direction, died today after falling from the third floor of a hotel in Palermo."
Alberto Crescenti, head of the city's emergency medical service, explained that Liam sustained "very serious injuries incompatible with life" due to the fall and "there was no possibility of resuscitation."
Recently, Liam's father, Geoff Payne, traveled to Argentina to retrieve his son's body from the morgue. Dressed in all black, he visited the hotel where the accident occurred, including Liam's room and the balcony from which he fell.
The moment became even more emotional when Geoff attended a vigil set up by fans outside the hotel. He silently bent down to read the heartfelt tributes and expressed gratitude to fans for their loving dedication to his son.

Cheryl Cole, English singer and the mother of Liam's son, Bear, expressed her grief and condemned media outlets for their exploitative coverage of Liam's death.
“What is troubling my spirit the most is that one day Bear will have access to the abhorrent reports and media exploitation we have seen in the past two days. It is breaking my heart further that I cannot protect him from that in his future,” Cheryl wrote. “I am begging you to consider what use some of these reports are serving, other than to cause further harm to everyone left behind picking up the pieces. Before you leave comments or make videos, ask yourself if you would like your own child or family to read them.”
