Liana Castillo on Spotlight Music Sessions

The Clash season 5 Top 4 Liana Castillo shared her rendition of the song "Halaga" on Spotlight Music Sessions on Friday, February 2.

The song was originally composed and sung by Roxanne Miranda, and was used as the original soundtrack for the Korean series aired on GMA, Cheese in the Trap. "Halaga" talks about the importance of not giving up on a relationship despite the different challenges one might face along the way.

Liana, meanwhile, sees "Halaga" as a heartfelt song that will make anyone feel kilig, especially after watching the Korean series.

“Pangkilig po, as in. 'Yun naman po, 'yung makikita niyo po usually sa K-Drama. Alam ko po ginamit siyang OST ng Cheese in the Trap po ba? 'Yun po, pinanood ko po 'yung K-Drama na 'yun as in gustong-gusto ko po 'yung K-drama na 'yun,” she said.

Liana added that she even read the webtoon on which the series was based, and expressed how the series suits the message of the song.

Speaking of OSTs, during Liana's guesting on Spotlight Music Sessions, the young former Clasher revealed that one of her dreams is to someday sing an OST of a GMA series. She also expressed wanting to be part of a drama series in the future but for now, she would like to focus on her singing.

When asked what role would she love to play in a series, Liana answered, “Mahirap po 'yan! Siguro po 'yung two-faced, kasi mahirap po 'yung ganun. 'Yung mabait po, 'yun pala hindi.”

For now, Liana said that she's focusing on improving herself and her talent. She said, “Currently po, I'm still working with my talent and 'yun po, nagta-try na rin po akong sumayaw, going on workshops.”
