Liza Soberano and H.E.R. share excitement for the Pinoy-inspired animated film!
Filipino-American stars Liza Soberano and H.E.R. couldn't be prouder as DreamWorks Animation's newest film, Forgotten Island, brings Filipino culture to the big screen.
Set in a world of mystery and magic, the upcoming animated film follows two best friends on a thrilling adventure inspired by the Philippines' vibrant folklore and traditions.
True to its Pinoy storytelling, the film also features a roster of Filipino talent — from its creators to its cast.

During a recent media conference in Manila, both Liza and H.E.R. shared their excitement about finally seeing the movie on the big screen.
For Liza, the film holds a special place in her heart as it taps into her Filipino roots.
"One of the things that instantly like drew me in to the project, because I'm also a lolo and lola's girl. I grew up with my grandparents, they raised me. And so I was like, that family dynamic is so accurate," she shared in a report on 24 Oras.
The actress also teased some must-watch details in the movie, especially for Filipino audiences.
"Almost like every single scene has some sort of like Easter egg where I feel like all Filipinos, when we watch it, we'll be able to identify and be like, 'oh my gosh, they know us. They see us. They care about us,'" she added.
Meanwhile, H.E.R. shared how special the film is to her and her Pinay mother.
"Honestly, she was very emotional, but she has no idea what to expect. Literally no idea what to expect 'cause I didn't give it away. She loves surprises. She was like, 'Anak, don't tell me, don't tell me,'" the Grammy Award winner said.
"I cannot wait to see her face. I know she's gonna cry," she added.

Directed and written by Joel Crawford and Januel Mercado, Forgotten Island will hit theaters on September 23.
Aside from Liza and H.E.R., the movie also stars Lea Salonga, Dave Franco, Dolly de Leon, Jo Koy, Manny Jacinto, Jenny Slate, and Ronny Chieng.
The film will also feature theme songs from Filipino talents such as BINI, SB19, KATSEYE's Sophia Laforteza, and many more.
