NASA shares Taal volcano photo


The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) shows latest photo of the Taal Volcano after its explosion on January 12.

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) shows the massive effects of the Taal Volcano explosion that took place on the volcano island back in January.

The surrounding provinces in the active volcano primarily Batangas province was severely affected by the ash spewed from Taal and the subsequent tremors that destroyed many homes and livelihoods in the area.

In a Tweet by the @NASA_Marshall account, it shared a before and after look of the Taal volcano in space after it has woken up after more than 40 years of dormancy.


In other news, the Philippines Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHILVOCS) yesterday, March 19, downgraded the alert status of the Taal volcano from Alert 2 (deceased unrest) to Alert 1 (abnormal).
