“Disability does not stand between a man and his/her dream.”
Magpakailanman's newest story follows Lairca, a leg-amputee who became the country's first Junior World Champion in Para Dance.
Lairca lost her left leg at the age of six after being diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a kind of bone cancer. From then on, she struggles to face daily activities and even keeping herself safe from insults and bullying. It doesn't help that she doesn't have a father who can protect her when her mother has to work to provide for them.
In spite of that, Lairca finds a hobby that helps her cope with her struggles as a teen amputee - the Para Dance Sport. Through this, Lairca has fulfilled her childhood dream of becoming a dancer.
But even with all the honor and pride, she has brought to her family, life gets harder for her when she transferred from her province to Manila. Lairca still becomes a victim of bullying.
What bigger challenges is she going to face before becoming the country's first Junior World Champion in Para Dance?
