Mama Lulu advice for parents

Mama Lulu also reminds parents: 'Bigyan natin sila ng freedom.'

Internet's Pinay mom Lulu Balgos, better known as Mama Lulu, shared her thoughts on the ongoing discussion about children choosing not to invite their parents to their weddings.

In a short video, Mama Lulu candidly expressed her perspective as a parent, emphasizing the importance of allowing children to make their own life decisions.

Kailangan open-minded kayo."

The content creator noted it depends on the family's situation, with some parents having no valid reason to interfere with their children's decision to get married.

She added that if inviting parents could lead to conflict in what is supposed to be a joyful celebration, she understands why some couples might choose not to do so.

So in the future, kung gusto nilang magbati, magkaayos, e 'di maganda iyon. For the meantime, 'yung kasal nila, gusto nila kanila lang. Tahimik," Mama Lulu added.

The social media personality also acknowledged couples who prefer to keep their weddings simple or elope altogether, recalling her own family's experience.

According to Mama Lulu, her eldest son got married abroad while her husband was in the Philippines and she was in the United States. Neither parent was able to attend the civil or church wedding.

Despite missing the occasion, Mama Lulu said she was happy to see her son build a successful marriage and find time to reunite.

"Understand the situation.

Mama Lulu ended the video with a reminder for fellow parents.

Understanding is the best. At hindi porke't matanda tayo, hindi tayo maaaring magkamali. Period."
