'Forgotten Island' gives sneak peak of a very Filipino party and Pinoy netizens are thrilled

Pinoy netizens are left clamoring for more after DreamWorks Animation dropped a sneak peek of the highly anticipated film "Forgotten Island."

In a four-minute preview, Jo (H.E.R.) takes us through a party held for her best friend Raissa (Liza Soberano) as her family celebrates her getting into the California Institute of Technology.

It starts off with a karaoke scene witnessed by what appears to be Raissa's whole clan and neighborhood. Raissa is fawned over as Jo arrives via tricycle.

While making her way through the party, Jo walks into a tinikling dance, gobbles up some lechon, and gives a nod to the image of Jesus. A tita even gives her directions by pointing with her nguso.

On X, excited Filipinos voiced out their appreciation.

"The karaoke, tricycle, tarp for when there are occasions, the lechon, barbecue, spaghetti and lumpia, the “Ate Jo!” and “Kuya”, the tinikling, the picture of Jesus, the gossipy titos at titas, and more!! The representation is representationing!!! Please everyone let's support this," one user wrote.

Another said, "And of course the hotdog with marshmallow is present in parties. I'm so happy that we finally get to have pinoy representation in a big animation film like DreamWorks."

"Forgotten Island" is set to open in cinemas nationwide on September 23.

It follows two childhood best friends, Raissa (Liza) and Jo (H.E.R.), as they try to find their way home after ending up on a mysterious island.

Aside from Liza and H.E.R., the movie also stars Lea Salonga, Dave Franco, Dolly de Leon, Jo Koy, Manny Jacinto, Jenny Slate, and Ronny Chieng.

The soundtrack of "Forgotten Island" includes songs by BINI, SB19, Sophia Laforteza of Katseye, Lea, Liza, H.E.R., and many more.
