Marian Rivera padlock incident

Marian Rivera clarifies the infamous 'padlock' rumor on GGV.

Award-winning actress Marian Rivera finally addressed the long-standing rumors that she once "padlocked" someone she supposedly had an issue with inside a room.

During her guest appearance on 'Gandang Gabi Vice' new season, the Kapuso actress joined a comedy skit in which she caught her husband, Dingdong Dantes (played by Vince Maristela), kissing his co-star, Verna Joy Periwinkle, on set even after the director called for a cut.

The skit quickly escalated into a confrontation between Marian and Verna. Moments later, Vice Ganda dragged Verna out of the room while Marian locked the door with a padlock.

"Since ngayon pina-punchline na lang natin 'yan, pero is it an urban legend 'yung padlock-padlock na 'yan dati? Did it really happen?" Vice asked Marian during their talk.

"'Yung totoo?" Marian replied with a smile.

" 'Yung totoo 'yan, maayos na kaming dalawa. Noon pa man, way way back na, at hinding-hindi ko makakalimutan, nag-guest kasi siya sa Marian show."

The Kapuso star recalled that they had already talked behind the scenes when the other person appeared on her show in 2014.

"Sabi sa akin ng staff doon, 'Okay ba ige-guest ko si ganito?' Sabi ko, 'Of course, sige.' Pumunta siya. Nagkita kaming dalawa. Nag-sorry siya sa akin. So from there, alam niya na may mga nangyari na hindi naman talagang nangyari," she explained.

The actress also shared why she had never addressed rumors surrounding the alleged padlocking incident, saying that people tend to believe what they want to believe.

Despite the speculation, Marian said she was at peace knowing that she had forgiven the other person and that they remained on good terms whenever they crossed paths.

But to directly address the rumors, Marian clarified that the alleged incident never happened.

"Pero kung ang tanong mo ay nangyari ba talaga, hindi," she said.

"Paano mo gagawin 'yun nailo-lock mo na nasa loob 'yung lock? Ibig sabihin, kaming dalawa ang nag-lock," she added.

Amid the rumors of a feud, Marian expressed happiness that she and the other person had reconciled.

" 'Yun 'yung pinakamaganda diyan. After all, lahat ng speculation, kung ano ang gusto nilang isipin, ang mahalaga, kami ng tao, maayos kami. Okay na ko doon."
