In an interview with Chika Minute on 24 Oras, Kapuso Primetime Queen Marian Rivera expressed her gratitude for the continuous recognition of her acting prowess in the film Balota.
Marian recently took home the “Best Actress of the Year” award at the inaugural Philippine Arts, Film, and Television Awards (PAFTA) for her powerful portrayal of Teacher Emmy.
“Nakakataba ng puso. Akala ko tapos na, so patuloy pa rin 'yung pagbibigay-pugay kay Teacher Emmy sa pelikulang Balota,” Marian said.
The actress shared her joy, admitting that it feels incredibly rewarding to create a film that makes a meaningful contribution to the country.
“Ito 'yung sinasabi kong masarap gumawa ng pelikula na nakaka-contribute ka sa country mo,” she expressed.
During her acceptance speech at the awarding ceremony, Marian expressed her gratitude to everyone who supported the film and dedicated the award to them.
“Sa mga taong walang sawang sumusuporta at nagmamahal po sa amin, para po sa inyo ang parangal na ito,” Marian said.
She continued, “Maraming salamat sa aming direktor, sa aming writers, at sa mga natiwala sa akin para gampanan ko po si Teacher Emmy.”
Marian also took to Instagram to share her gratitude for the award, saying that she is 'forever grateful' for this latest recognition.
“My heart is full and grateful. Thank you, PAFTA, for honoring BALOTA with Modern Grand Slam Best Actress. Forever grateful for this moment,” she wrote in the caption.
Marian Rivera officially returned as the lead judge of Stars on the Floor this February.
Celebrating the show's second season, she highlighted the “unexpected collaborations” that elevate the competition.
“Itong season two, parang mas exciting kasi alam mo 'yun, ang daming collaboration na unexpected,” Marian said.
She also noted a more competitive atmosphere on the judging panel, jokingly stating that disagreements are already arising as she identifies standout talent among the new batch of dancers.
“May mga kaaway na 'kong mga ka-judge ko this time lalo na kapag may sinasabi sila dun. Kasi ngayon pa lang, parang may napupusuan na 'ko sa kanila eh. Nakikita ko 'yung mga potentials talaga,” she shared.
Catch Marian Rivera in Stars on the Floor every Sunday at 7:15 p.m. at GMA Network, Kapuso Stream, and GMA Pinoy TV.
