Moviegoers will have another chance to watch the hit Cinemalaya film Balota, starring Kapuso Primetime Queen Marian Rivera, even after tickets for its screening have been all sold out.
In a Facebook post, Cinemalaya announced that Balota, directed by Kip Oebanda; and Gulay Lang, Manong, directed by BC Amparado, emerged as the top box-office hits of Cinemalaya Bente.
Because of this, both Balota and Gulay Lang, Manong will have additional screenings at the Ayala Malls Manila Bay from August 9 to 11. Gulay Lang, Manong will be shown at 11 a.m. while Balota will be at 2:30 p.m.
Tickets will be available at the Ayala Malls Cinema Ticket Booth.
Meanwhile, Balota, and its lead star, Marian Rivera, earned high praises from moviegoers, including her fellow celebrities, for its great story and her stellar performance.
Marian showed her versatility as an actress in the film. In an interview with Lhar Santiago on 24 Oras, she admitted that she enjoyed playing the role of Teacher Emmy in the film.
“Parang ang dami kong nae-experience and nae-explore doon sa character ni Teacher Emmy. Super enjoy ko siyang ginagawa,” Marian said.
She added that this only inspired her to do more challenging roles.
“Nakakataba ng puso na itong mga ginagawa namin ay na-a-appreciate ng ibang tao at nagbibigay halaga para sa kanila,” Marian said.
