Ashley Ortega got an impromptu cooking lesson from Maricar de Mesa during a small get-together on the 'Legal Wives' set.
Legal Wives co-stars Bianca Umali, Maricar de Mesa, Bernard Palanca, Ashley Ortega, and Jay Arcilla shared some steak during a small dinner get-together on set.
Maricar shared what she called their "secret dinner date" on her vlog.
"So now it's sunset. Actually, the sun is down. I'm about to have a secret date, a secret dinner date with my co-workers. Pinagusapan namin ito--that we're gonna set up dinner tonight. We brought our own baon dito sa set. Samahan n'yo kami para makita n'yo kung anong ginagawa namin kapag naka-break kami dito sa set ng 'Legal Wives,'" she explained in the beginning of the video.
The five co-stars shared a table at a balcony of what seems to be a dining hall.
Bernard even brought his guitar and speaker to play some tunes for his co-stars.
"We are waiting kasi magdi-dinner muna kami ng aming mga baon na steak," Maricar says.
She then showed a a huge slab of steak, ready to be cooked as well as the pan, induction cooker and few more ingredients which Ashley brought.
"Here's our T-bone, care of Ashley but I am the designated chef. Taga-dala lang siya. Hindi siya marunong magluto," she said.
"Actually, tita's the real chef here," Ashley quipped.
Maricar then instructed Ashley to put olive oil and butter in the pan. She then suddenly had the idea of teaching Ashley how to cook after teasing the younger actress about her love life.
"Guys alam na. Wala siyang boyfriend so tuturuan ko siyang magluto ng steak. Baka after this magka-jowa na siya," Maricar teased.
"Ang cute, nagluluto kami ng ganito. After nito pwede nang magkaroon ng boyfriend si Ashley," she added.
In her excitement, Ashley even asked Maricar to take her photo while cooking the steak.
"My god, I'm cooking steak! It's an achievement! I don't do the cooking. I just do the eating," she shared.

Legal Wives tells the story of a unique Maranaw family where one man marries three different women for various reasons.
Bianca plays Farrah, the third and youngest wife. Maricar is her mother Zobaida while Bernard is her father Abdul.
Ashley plays Farrah's cousin Marriam while Jay is one of her classmates.
The series also stars Kapuso Drama King Dennis Trillo, Alice Dixson, Andrea Torres, Cherie Gil, Al Tantay, Irma Adlawan, and many others.
