Drag performer Marina Summers went viral online after making a bold remark during the Miss Universe Philippines 2026 coronation night held on Saturday, May 2, at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
As the night's host, she acknowledged the audience's strong investment in the competition during the opening segment.
“I understand how important this evening is for the people here at the arena and, of course, for those watching at home. The stakes are high, and everybody is understandably invested in this pageant. Let's just hope we have the same standards when we elect our country's future leaders,” she said.
She then followed it up with a pointed question to the audience: “Tama? Mali?”
The crowd erupted in cheers, expressing agreement with her call to uphold the same high standards in government leadership amid ongoing political issues.
Marina's statement quickly gained traction on social media, sparking discussions about civic responsibility and public expectations beyond pageantry.
Marina was the first trans woman to host the Miss Universe Philippines pageant.
She is known for competing on Drag Race Philippines Season 1 (runner-up) and RuPaul's Drag Race: UK vs. the World Season 2.
