
On August 22, Sunday (Philippine time), Filipino boxer Mark “Magnifico” Magsayo defeated Mexican boxer Julio Ceja after knocking him out in the tenth round of their fight.
Because of his latest victory, Magsayo remains undefeated with 23 wins, 16 of them being knockouts, and now has a shot at the WBC featherweight title.
The Boholano boxer took to Instagram to thank God, Manny Pacquiao, and everyone who helped him in his journey.
He also dedicated his win to all Filipinos. Magsayo said, “AT SA LAHAT NG PILIPINO AT LAHAT NG SUMUPORTA SA AMIN SA LABAN NA ITO SALAMAT PO SANA NAPASAYA NAMIN KAYO SA MGA LABAN NAMIN”
Magsayo also had a thoughtful message to his defeated opponent Ceja. He said, “[Praying] for Ceja.”
In the comments section, Magsayo also gave an update on Ceja's condition after a netizen asked if the Mexican boxer is okay.
Magsayo replied, “We checked [the] hospital [and they] said he is already responsive and will be ok.”
The Pinoy boxer's post has since been flooded with congratulatory messages from Filipino fans and supporters all over the world, including Kapuso stars Rodjun Cruz and Chef Jose Sarasola, and vlogger Carson Moody a.k.a. Bisayang Hilaw.
