It has been more than ten years since Mark Herras and Jennylyn Mercado emerged as the Ultimate Male and Female Survivors of the first season of the reality star search Starstruck. From young artista hopefuls, Mark and Jen have become household names, their stars shining brighter than ever. After being paired with other actors in previous projects, the two former lovers have teamed up once again to headline the compelling primetime series Rhodora X.

How has the MarkJen love team evolved through the years? Let's take a look at their journey from their early days in showbiz to their highly-anticipated reunion.

After becoming Starstruck's first batch of Ultimate Survivors, Mark and Jen became a bankable love team, appearing in Kapuso shows such as Encantadia, Joyride, and I Luv NY. They were also cast in films such as So Happy Together, Let The Love Begin, Say That You Love Me, Lovestruck, Blue Moon, Eternity, and Super Noypi. Their fan base grew larger, especially when the two announced that they were officially together.

But their young love did not last long, as they went on their separate ways not just on their personal lives but in their respective careers as well. Jen did Now and Forever: Dangal, Super Twins, and La Vendetta before giving birth to her son, Alex Jazz. Mark, on the other hand, portrayed the lead role in the TV version of Fantastic Man, and starred in Sine Novela: My Only Love and Joaquin Bordado.

Upon Jennylyn's return to showbiz, the two had the chance to work together again in Sine Novela: Paano Ba Ang Mangarap?. This was then followed by the afternoon series Ikaw Sana in 2009. Today, their much-awaited onscreen reunion after almost five years is finally coming to life in Rhodora X, which premiered on January 27.

Mark and Jen have remained friends in spite of their breakup. Even if they are both currently single, they admit that they are in no rush to rekindle the past.

"Kung paano ang relationship namin ngayon, ayoko talagang mawala. And one of the possible reasons na puwedeng mawala 'yun is siguro kung papasok ulit kami sa isang relationship na hindi mo masasabi kung ano talaga ang mangyayari. Puwedeng maghiwalay kayo at matapos ang friendship niyo, and we don't want to ruin our friendship," says Jen in an exclusive interview with GMANetwork.com during the Rhodora X mall show in Iloilo City.

Mark echoes the same sentiment. "Ayaw namin mawala 'yung friendship na mayroon kami na lumalim ng lumalim sa pagtagal ng panahon. For ten years sobrang lumalim ang pagkakaibigan namin, so ayaw naming gawing complicated."
