'SLAY' star Matet de Leon shares the story behind her throwback photo with her late mother, Nora Aunor.
SLAY actress Matet de Leon posted a story about her throwback photo with her late mom Nora Aunor and her brother Kenneth.
Nora, dubbed as The Superstar, passed away at the age of 71 last April 16.
According to Matet, the blurred photo with her mommy was taken on the first day she arrived from the US.
She recounted, “Ito yung unang araw na nakauwi si mommy from the states.. Grabeng tagal namin siyang hindi nakita.. Hindi kami makapunta sa states noon dahil pare parehas mahirap ang buhay namin nung panahong yun.. Hindi parin uso ang video call kaya sa email lang kami nag uusap that time.. Eto kami ni kenneth, excited sa atensyon, oras at yakap ni mommy. Hindi kami kasama sa photoshoot niya but she wanted a photo with the both of us.”
Matet ended her post by expressing her profound gratitude to everyone who supported their family during this difficult point in their lives.
She admits, “We miss her terribly. Kagaya ng karamihan sa inyo.. Kaya gusto kong magpa salamat sa lahat ng nakiramay. Naka punta man o hindi nung wake ni mommy.. We appreciate all of you.
“Mula sa aming lima, Thank you.”
Nora has four adopted children with ex-husband Christopher de Leon namely Lotlot, Matet, Kenneth, and Kiko. Meanwhile, Ian de Leon is their biological son.
Christopher's marriage with Nora was annulled by the court in 1996.
