What do Mavy Legaspi and Kyline Alcantara have to say about the new generation?

With the different misconceptions about Gen Z, Zero Kilometers Away stars Kyline Alcantara and Mavy Legaspi want to let the people know that their generation is “more aware” compared to what the public sees them as.

“We, the Gen Zs, are more aware than you think, than you believe. But we're always still willing to learn,” Mavy said during their interview on the Updated with Nelson Canlas podcast.

He added, “I think 'yan 'yung misconception na nilalahat ng Gen Zs na we're stubborn, pero there's a lot of us that are aware but are still willing to learn.”

Kyline, meanwhile, mentioned on the podcast how she always asks the older generation to listen to the Gen Z and vice versa.

“They have more wisdom, they have more knowledge and just communicate better, understand each other, respect the older generation. Mas matagal na sila sa buhay so mas marami na silang na-experience, mas marami na silang wisdom,” the actress said.

She added, “But that doesn't mean that Gen Zs don't have any wisdom also that we could share with others.”

Other stars, such as Underage leads Lexi Gonzales, Hailey Mendes, and Elijah Alejo, also defended their generation from being labeled as a snowflake generation in a separate interview, saying that Gen Z are just “empowered enough to speak our minds.”

“We will not take anything from anyone, na if na-offend kami, sasabihin namin. We have the courage and we have the strength,” Lexi said in their interview in a past episode of the same podcast.

Mavy and Kyline also answered the question about Gen Z not knowing how to deal with privacy, with Mavy saying that, “definitely the privacy has lessened down.”

“I hope, I really hope na hindi naman mawawala 'yun just because social media is growing, because it's really not the platform. It's how people use it and it's kind of sad lang how the youth are using these platforms, kasi they need that also e,” he added.

Meanwhile, when Kyline was asked where she drew the line regarding privacy, she answered, “When it's too much po, when I know na kapag shinare ko 'yun, I'm gonna get a lot of reactions, different sides.”

She then gave a warning to all other Gen Z like her. “Every time na magpo-post ka, iba't ibang tao 'yung makakakita dito. If you want to put yourself out there, like all out, expect different sides and I guess don't complain if you have hate comments or you know, you get canceled, kasi you put yourself out there e.”

She added that she does not encourage the mindset of posting everything, even breaching their own privacy, just for the likes and attention.
