First-time mom Max Collins stresses the importance of motherhood and taking care of one's self.

Celebrity mom Max Collins shares her thoughts on being a “new mom” in her latest Instagram post on Sunday, August 23.

While she enjoys taking care of her newborn son Skye Anakin, the actress said that she also prioritizes her wellbeing by being physically active.

“I'm not going to sugar coat it. Being a new mom is so hard! And it's even harder to find time to take care of myself.

"But I always try to remind myself that if I don't, I won't be the best mom I can be for Skye,” she said.

Max recently went back to her mat to do a little toning exercise to get back in shape, just a little over two weeks since giving birth to Skye.

“Physical health is just as important as mental health. Our minds and bodies are connected right?!

"The reason why I'm sharing my postpartum journey is because it somehow holds me accountable,” Max continued.

She then thanked her trainer who has been patient and understanding towards her during her postpartum journey.

“The reason why I take one-on-one online classes is because I'm lazy and won't finish the workout if I don't have someone pushing me to.

“That's why I'm so lucky to have Citadel Bernado as a trainer, because she understands how hard it is to be a mom.

"I cancel on her all the time because I have to take care of Skye, and even during our class we would have to take breaks so that I could check on him.

“She always finds a way to fit me in her schedule and never gives me an attitude when I make her wait.

"I just want to share my appreciation for her because of how understanding she's been through my prenatal and postpartum journey so far.

“I love Pilates and I feel so good after each workout, so I'm glad I can somehow find time to fit a class in once in a while. It's the little things that make me happy and working out is one of them,” she added.

Meanwhile, Max stays true to her belief that moms should have some “me time,” like doing some exercise, to better take care of themselves post-pregnancy.

“I believe a happy momma makes a happy baby, and I can only be a happy momma if my body and mind are functioning well,” Max stressed.

Max and her husband Kapuso actor Pancho Magno welcomed baby Skye Anakin on July 6.

Max Collins and Pancho tied the knot in December 2017 in a star-studded wedding at the Marriott Grand Ballroom in Pasay City.
