Netizens can still enjoy the amazing films from the 2024 Metro Manila Film Festival until next week!

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has exciting news for moviegoers this January 2025!

In a recent Facebook post, the organization announced that the successful 2024 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) will extend its run until Tuesday, January 14. The extension comes in response to widespread demand from movie lovers and the general public.

The MMDA shared their enthusiasm, "Amid calls for an extension by numerous movie enthusiasts and the general public, the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) will extend the theatrical run of the official entries until January 14 in select cinemas only."

In addition, the MMDA expressed their heartfelt thanks for the overwhelming support the festival has received."Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Chairman and concurrent MMFF overall Chairman Atty. Don Artes expressed his deepest gratitude for the continued patronage of moviegoers to the MMFF. The festival is supposed to end tomorrow, January 7, but has now been extended for a week," the post continued.

Chairman Atty. Don Artes also shared his excitement over the festival's 50th anniversary, remarking on how the support from the public has exceeded expectations.

“We, at the MMFF, are overwhelmed with the continued support of the public for the festival's 50th edition. Due to public clamor, we have decided to extend the theatrical run of the MMFF movies to further showcase the locally produced films that are truly impressive and artistically excellent,” Atty. Don Artes said.

To conclude, MMDA also emphasized that proceeds from the festival will support various beneficiaries in the film industry, including the Movie Workers Welfare Foundation (Mowelfund), the Film Academy of the Philippines, the Motion Picture Anti-Film Piracy Council, the Optical Media Board, and the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP).

The 2024 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) brought an exciting lineup of films that delivered laughter, inspiration, and unforgettable entertainment during the holiday season.

On December 27, the festival celebrated its grand awards night with a glamorous red carpet event where numerous celebrities were honored with prestigious awards for their outstanding contributions to the films.

The 10 official entries of the festival's 50th edition captivated audiences, which moviegoers can continue to enjoy during the extended run.
