From supporting roles to leading man, Michael Sager talks about his career journey in 'PIPOL Magazine.'
Kapuso star Michael Sager has proven time and again how far he has come in terms of his career journey. In his recent cover feature in PIPOL Magazine, he did not shy away from sharing his journey toward becoming this generation's leading man.
From his supporting role in Daig Kayo ng Lola Ko to landing leading man roles, Michael has come a long way in his career journey. During his interview with the lifestyle magazine, he shared his belief that being an actor should never mean losing sight of who you are.
“By staying honest with yourself and your audience, the connection becomes more genuine—allowing people to appreciate not just the celebrity, but the person behind the name,” PIPOL Magazine posted.
They also quoted the Kapuso actor saying, “If you love what you do, it makes it a lot easier.”
Michael is currently starring as Nate Lim in GMA Afternoon Prime's musical drama series Born to Shine alongside singer-actress Zehpanie. Aside from Nate, he also played the leading man roles in My Ilonggo Girl alongside Jillian Ward, and Shining Inheritance with Kate Valdez.
However, before landing the role, Michael steadily built his career through talent, hard work, and unwavering passion as he took on each role, eventually becoming the Gen Z leading man people know him as today.
“Mapagod man ako, kung masaya akong ginagawa ko 'yon, I will be fulfilled,” Michael said as part of his interview.
In an interview during the Cornerstone Media event on July 26, Michael admitted that it has been his dream for the longest time to be the next leading man. In fact, it was the main reason he joined the showbiz industry.
“Nakakatuwa naman po that people see it that way, that we're gonna be the next leading man kasi it's always been my dream and the reason why I started in showbiz. Alam mo 'yun, to one day achieve that goal of being a leading man,” Michael said.
However, despite his dream coming true, the Kapuso actor admitted that it also comes with pressure that will motivate him to work harder and keep improving his craft.
