Promising Sparkle actor and host Migs Almendras was beaming with pride as he talked about his vertical mircoseries titled 'Almost Lovers' with former 'Pinoy Big Brother' housemate Karina Bautista.

'Almost Lovers' is a 20-episode vertical series brought to life by contraceptive brand, Premiere Condoms.

In his exclusive chat with GMANetwork.com, Migs shared his experience shooting a vertical-format series compared to a movie or TV soap.

He said, “Iba siya kasi, the way I would say it na it's very compressed. For example, one-episode sanay tayo 20 to 30 minutes. Kailangan mo siyang chop-chopin, so, lagi siyang may ending na one-minute na parang cliffhanger.

Recognizing its fresh approach to storytelling, Migs is happy that audiences will get to know the story about Romeo and Julie.

“Ang nakakatuwa sa series na 'to they were able to use a condom, a very simple product condom and use it to be able to tell a story about will they or won't they push and pull,” the Sparkle actor told GMANetwork.com. “So, ang ganda kasi 'yung condom mismo it became a device to explore other themes of 'yun nga first encounter or may be kinakabahan ka sa sex or whatever. So, 'yun 'yung masasabi ko about Premiere condoms and it's so nice of them to have this type of vertical series na goes against na what people might think of a condom brand.”

Migs was also ecstatic to be reunited with Karina Bautista in this project, whom he worked with in the 2025 film 'My Love Will Make You Disappear.'

“It was so nice to work again with Karina Bautista, kasi una kami nagkawork kami sa My Love Will Make You Disappear before sa Star Cinema. It was just really a great project to be working again with people that I've worked with before.”
