Homegrown Kapuso actor Miguel Tanfelix is the newest Runner in the much-awaited reality show Running Man Philippines season two. The announcement was made today, January 23.

Miguel will be competing to outlast and outwit Mikael Daez, Glaiza De Castro, Buboy Villar, Lexi Gonzales, Kokoy de Santos, and Angel Guardian for the title of Ultimate Runner this season.

The seven Runners are currently in South Korea shooting for the show.

Meanwhile, the announcement which was made on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda (FTWBA) also clarified that the Primetime Action Hero Ruru Madrid will have a “special role” in this season.

“Nais lang namin i-klaro that Ruru Madrid is still part of Running Man except that itong season na ito ay he will take on a special role kaya minabuti ng production na magkaroon ng seventh Runner,” said Tito Boy.

FTWBA showed a special video of the Runners welcoming Miguel to the show. In return, the Sparkle actor expressed his gratitude to the whole Running Man Philippines team for giving him this opportunity.

He said, “Siyempre overwhelmed ako, dahil unang-una, ang saya n'yo kasama. Pangalawa, snowing dito sa Seoul, South Korea. So very thankful ako sa Running Man dahil pinayagan nila ako na ma-experience 'to.”

With the announcement, Miguel's name reached the trending list on the social media site X (formerly Twitter).

It can be recalled that last January 7, during a segment in All-Out Sundays where the six Runners were promoting their second season, Mikael asked Miguel if he was the next Runner.
