Mikoy Morales says being a Kapuso is more than just a job.
Comedian Mikoy Morales has indeed come a long way since he debuted in showbiz back in 2012. And all those years, he has been among the home-grown talents of GMA who have stayed loyal to the network.
For him, working for GMA is more than just a job, being a Kapuso is his life.
"It's been a very complicated personal relationship with GMA because for the most part, ang laking parte ng buhay ko 'to. Imposibleng maging trabaho lang sa'kin," he said in a virtual interview with GMANetwork.com last Friday, November 12.
"Hindi siya trabaho lang sa'kin all these years and kaya nga umabot siguro ng ganito katagal. Just like a relationship with a mom or a dad or a sibling it's grounded and it's life-changing. Ang laki ng space ang ino-occupy sa buhay at sa puso ko ngayon na hindi ko alam kung nasaan ako kung wala 'to. Hindi ko alam kung anong ginagawa ko sa buhay ko kung wala 'to," he said.
But over and above anything, he is utterly grateful to the network for the trust given to him all these years.
"But overall siguro ang pinaka nananaig na nararamdaman towards the network and 'yung Artist Center is 'yung gratefulness na out of everyone sa dami kong naging kasabay, kasama at ang daming may gustong makapasok dito, nandito pa rin ako," he said.
Looking back and acknowledging that not everything, just like in any typical family, was smooth-sailing, he is still thankful that the network remained supportive of him through it all.
"Nakikitaan pa rin ako ng worth and the same way na nakikitaan ko pa rin ng importance 'yung family na 'to kahit umabot sa point na alam kong sakit ako sa ulo. I can be difficult, despite all that nandito pa rin ako at nandito pa rin sila," he added.
"'Yung loyalty talaga, is what I love most about being a Kapuso," he ended.
Mikoy Morales is a regular cast member of the long-running gag show Bubble Gang. He is also part of upcoming Kapuso action-adventure series Lolong.
He recently affirmed his loyalty to the network after inking another contract with GMA Artist Center on Friday, November 12.
