'The Clash' contestant Mirriam Manalo remembers her late daughter Layla, who was supposed to celebrate her 4th birthday.
The Clash finalist Mirriam Manalo took to Instagram today, February 12, to mark the birthday of her late daughter Layla.
Mirriam gave birth to Layla in 2019, but in October of the same year she passed away.
Layla was diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA), a genetic disease that affects the central nervous system and is characterized by weakness and wasting of muscles.
Sharing a photo of Layla on Instagram, the singer wrote in the captions, “Happy 4th Birthday to my ate Layla in heaven.. I miss and love you baby ko”
“I Thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy Philippians 1:3-4.”
Unfortunately, tragedy struck Mirriam's family again when Layla's sister, Lilah Emilia, also died due to Spinal Muscular Atrophy in April 2022.
In 2018, Mirriam Manalo competed in the first season of the popular singing competition The Clash. She became one of the finalists, but Golden Cañedo took home the title as the first grand winner.
