Filipinas looking to represent the country in international pageants have another avenue to do so as the Miss Grand Philippines announces that it is now accepting applications.
In one of the more recent posts on its official Instagram account, the Miss Grand Philippines organization announced that they are now accepting applications for the pageant. In the caption to the post, the organization challenged prospective applicants to become “the first Filipina to bring home the golden crown.”
The caption also included instructions on how to apply, which include submitting full body, swimsuit, and headshot photos.
Successful applicants will succeed Miss Grand Philippines 2023 Nikki de Moura, who represented the country in the Miss Grand International pageant last year at the Phú Thọ Indoor Stadium in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
Leading up to the pageant, Nikki received a warm welcome in Vietnam when she arrived wearing an Ao Dai, the country's national dress. Pageant fans and even Nikki herself were excited by her arrival, with Nikki writing in the caption that she was “ready for amazing adventures ahead.”
The Miss Grand Philippines organization also called on Filipino pageant fans to support her pageant journey by voting for her for best in Ao Dai. Nikki would eventually finish the pageant out of the top 20.
Nikki's fellow delegates during the 2023 Miss Grand Philippines pageant include Herlene Budol, who at the time had already placed first runner-up during the 2022 Binibining Pilipinas pageant.
Miss Grand Philippines is just the latest pageant to be staged in the coming months. Just recently, the Binibining Pilipinas pageant crowned its new queens, with Myrna Esguerra winning the Binibining Pilipinas International crown and Jasmin Bungay winning the Binibining Pilipinas Globe crown.
