The Miss Universe Philippines 2023 challenges play an important part in how well a queen performs on coronation night.
After releasing the ticket prices for the upcoming coronation night on May 13, the Miss Universe Philippines organization has now released the schedule of challenges that pageant fans will surely be looking out for.
In an Instagram post, the Miss Universe Philippines organization shared a graphic outlining the challenges queens will take part in and the length of time pageant fans can vote for their favorites.
The Photoshoot Challenge will be released today, while fans can vote starting today until April 9. Meanwhile, the Swimsuit Challenge will be on April 10, with voting open from April 10 to April 16. Finally, the Runway Challenge will be on April 17. Pageant fans can vote from April 17 to April 23.
Of course, doing well in the challenges ensure a better placement for the participants. For instance, aside from placing in the Top 3 of the 2022 Swimsuit Challenge alongside eventual winner Celeste Cortesi, Michelle Dee also made it to the Top 3 of the Casting Video Challenge. She also won six special awards - Miss Kumuniverse, Miss Creamsilk, Face of Essentials by Belo, Miss Jojo Bragais, Miss Savepoint, and Miss The Medical City. Michelle would eventually end up being Miss Universe Philippines Tourism.
The 40 queens participating in the 2023 Miss Universe Philippines pageant will be competing for the “La Mer en Majeste” crown, which was unveiled in April last year. In a post on their Instagram account, the Miss Universe Philippines organization explained that the crown draws its inspiration from and is an homage to the sea. The crown utilizes several South Sea pearls, the country's national gem and “a radiant symbol of the harmonious relationship between man and nature, capturing the very spirit of the Filipinos.”
