The moment of truth truly is coming closer and closer for the candidates for this year's Miss Universe pageant as the current reigning Miss Universe, R'Bonney Gabriel, has revealed that preparations for the coronation night are already underway.
R'Bonney posted multiple photos and videos on her Instagram account showing her wearing a flowy blue dress. In the caption to the post, R'Bonney wrote in both Spanish and English that she is in El Salvador to do some pre-filming for the coronation night on November 18, 2023. She also asked her fans and Instagram followers who they think will be the queen to follow after her.
One of the queens looking to follow in R'Bonney's footsteps - and bring home the country's fifth Miss Universe crown - is current reigning Miss Universe Philippines Michelle Dee. In a recent interview, the Kapuso star revealed that she is putting in “200 percent” in her training to win the crown.
“I'm giving it everything that I have, 200 percent of myself I am dedicating to my crown. Nililigawan ko talaga 'yung pang-limang korona,” she shared during a contract signing with Autism Society Philippines. “I'm really training every day when my schedule permits. I've been working on different aspects of my campaign just to make sure that when I fly to El Salvador, 100 percent ready.”
Filipino pageant fans have already gotten a peek into Michelle's pasarela training after the Miss Universe Philippines organization posted it on their official Instagram account. The organization called it “fierce pasarela training” that will help Michelle “conquer the Miss Universe stage”.
Michelle has also revealed that her finals gown designer is Mark Bumgarner, who also designed the gown that Michelle wore during the evening gown competition of Miss Universe Philippines.
“I trust his full creative freedom. He knows what I want to achieve and we share the same vision. It's very exciting and I truly believe the gown will become iconic afterwards,” Michelle teased.
Michelle already teased her preparations for the pageant last month in an interview with Unang Balita. In the interview, she shared her excitement for the Miss Universe coronation night and how the Miss Universe Philippines team are polishing her performance for the pageant.
“Sabihin nating perfect na, mas kaya pang i-perfect. Obviously, I have so much trust in my team, I have much trust in the organization,” she said. “We all know I love giving a show and I love looking the part as well, so abangan n'yo talaga.”
