Two winning queens from the Miss World Philippines pageant went to a Tondo school to participate in Brigada Eskwela.
The winners of the Miss World Philippines 2022 pageant continue to showcase their involvement in advocacies and causes as two of the winning queens participated in the kickoff for the government program, Brigada Eskwela.
In a post on its social media accounts, the Miss World Philippines Organization revealed that Reina Hispanoamericana Filipinas Ingrid Santamaria and Miss Eco Teen Philippines Beatriz Mclelland took part at the Brigada Eskwela kickoff at the Pres. Corazon C. Aquino High School in Baseco, Port Area, Manila. The queens joined faculty members, local government officials, parents, and volunteers who were also at the event. This is the latest outreach activity made by the Miss World Philippines winners over the past few weeks.
Last month, Miss World Philippines 2022 Charity Cassandra Chan went to the Mataas na Kahoy Evacuation Center in Batangas to visit children with cerebral palsy and to continue advocating for her Beauty with a Purpose project.
Cassandra was accompanied by Miss Eco Philippines 2022 Ashley Subijano Montenegro, Reina Hispanoamericana Filipinas Ingrid Santamaria, Miss World Philippines 2022 Top 10 Finalist Kayla Tiongson, and Miss World Philippines Batangas Province 2022 Shaina Rose Ico.
Also in July, current reigning Miss World Philippines Gwendolyne Fourniol visited the ERDA Foundation a non-government organization that was founded in 1974 and “envisions a nation where all children and youth have access to quality education and holistic development in a supportive environment for them to have a better life.” It is also the advocacy that Gwendolyne supports.
Aside from Gwendolyne, Miss Eco International 2022 Kathleen Paton, Miss Environment Philippines 2021 Michelle Arceo, and Mister World Philippines Kirk Bondad were also at the ERDA Foundation.
The current reigning queens advocating for the social causes close to their heart is something encouraged by the Miss World Organization, and even includes it in the pageant as the Beauty with a Purpose competition. Tracy Maureen Perez, the previous Miss World Philippines, made it to the final round of the pageant's Beauty with a Purpose challenge alongside the candidates from England, India, Kenya, South Africa, and the United States.
