Myrtle Sarrosa pleads to have her phone back: "Hopefully they still choose to do the right thing."

Myrtle Sarrosa shares an update regarding her missing phone.

On Saturday, June 13, Myrtle took to social media to ask for help in recovering the device she lost during the ToyCon event in Pasay City.

The actress and content creator even offered a PhP30,000 reward to anyone who could return the phone.

"Hindi po ako galit. Honestly, I completely understand that people go through different circumstances in life. From the bottom of my heart, wala po akong galit o sama ng loob," she wrote in a post.

"Ang hiling ko lang po sana ay maibalik ang phone ko. Marami po kasi itong important memories, files, and videos na for my content na hindi ko na mapapalitan."

A day later, Myrtle revealed that she had gotten closer to recovering the phone. However, she claimed that the person currently in possession of the device was allegedly asking for more than the reward she initially offered.

"My phone got stolen during Toycon, and apparently, the person doesn't want the PhP30,000 reward anymore... they are asking for more," she said.

The cosplayer added that she was not the only attendee who experienced such an incident, claiming that several event-goers had also reported losing valuables during the convention.

"I was so busy meeting everyone that I didn't realize my phone was missing until around 5 PM. I honestly wanted to enjoy the convention while trying not to panic. After getting off the stage, we reported the incident sa staff and they immediately assisted us. However, when my team got to the SMX concierge, ika-9th na kami sa pila ng mga nagre-report ng lost items," she shared.

Determined to locate the phone, Myrtle contacted her family to access her backup device and track its location. According to her, the phone's signal led them to Ever Gotesco in Commonwealth.

"From MOA, punta agad sa Ever Gotesco. So there I was... still dressed as Chandra around Ever Gotesco in full cosplay. Since sobrang recognizable ko nag sabi ang family ko sila na mag ask around para discreet," she continued.

"At one point, we rang the phone. A girl answered 'Hello.' Then immediately dropped the call. Feeling ko the person was around the area when she heard na may naghahanap ng One Piece phone na may SB19 Signature [my phone had a distinct blue autograph sa likod ni Ken and Pablo]."

The search eventually turned into a chase after they noticed the phone moving away from the mall. For about an hour, Myrtle and her companions followed the device's location through Commonwealth, Fairview, and Mindanao Avenue. After some time, the signal appeared to return to Ever Gotesco.

"We followed it and immediately sought assistance from the security. I honestly thought we were about to recover it. Kasi katabi na namin siya sa tracker. But as we used the ring feature... the person turned the phone off. The location froze. The tracker stopped moving. The phone suddenly went offline. "

Myrtle explained that her desire to recover the device was not about its monetary value, but the memories stored inside it.

"I could've backed everything up. But this past month has been incredibly heavy for me. My Lola passed away. My dad was hospitalized. And honestly, I just hadn't gotten around to backing up hundreds of gigabytes of files kasi I've always shot my stuff in raw. Including some of my last memories with my Lola before she passed. "

Hope resurfaced when Myrtle later received a message that appeared to come from the person holding the phone.

"At first, I thought na finally may hope to get my phone back. But unfortunately... Hindi siya ganon. I can't share everything yet because we're still hoping to continue communicating with the person who currently has the phone. But let's just say... it doesn't feel like the goal is simply returning the phone anymore. Right now, it feels like the goal is to get more money."

Despite the situation, Myrtle said she remains hopeful that the person involved will choose to do the right thing.

"Hopefully I'm wrong. Hopefully, they still choose to do the right thing. Kasi as I mentioned kahapon sa post. If genuinely they wanted to return it, I have no ill emotions and open ako to give the reward."

Sh also expressed her gratitude to those who assisted her during the search.

"I also want to thank the ToyCon organizers, Mana staff, marshals, SMX security team, and the police officers who helped us. I want to remind everyone that the fault lies with the people stealing, not with those doing their best to assist," she noted.

Aside from cosplaying, Myrtle is also an actress known for her roles in Nagbabagang Luha (2021), Makiling (2024), and My Ilonggo Girl (2025)
