It looks like all the fan speculation is true as the latest trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home finally confirms the existence of the Marvel multiverse, with characters from the other Spider-Man films making an appearance.
The trailer opens with Peter Parker, played by Tom Holland, telling Zendaya's character MJ that the only time he's ever felt normal as Spider-Man was the time MJ found out about his secret.
It then shifts to Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) explaining to Peter that they have been getting “visitors” since Peter botched the spell that was meant to make people forget that he is Spider-Man.
We then get scenes of Peter battling Doc Ock (Alfred Molina) and Doctor Strange explaining to him that all these villains from other universes die fighting Spider-Man in their realities.
Audiences then get even more shots of past Spider-Man villains from both the Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield films, like Jamie Foxx's Electro, Willem Defoe's Green Goblin, Rhys Ifans' The Lizard, and Thomas Haden Church's Sandman.
Not surprisingly, the #SpiderManNoWayHome hashtag shot up the Twitter trending topics, with 598,000 tweets as of this writing. Related words like Andrew - as in Andrew Garfield - and Peter Parker were also in the trending topics.
