Sparkle Teen member John Clifford values the lesson he learned from his mother Sofia Gawchua.
Being groomed to become one of the next generation of actors of GMA-7, Sparkle cutie John Clifford knows that his journey to stardom will be difficult. However he knows that the support of his family, especially his mother, will carry him through the tough times.
In his exclusive chat with GMANetwork.com, the Sparkle Teen member shared the special reminder of his mom Sofia Gawchua to him, now that he is pursuing a career in showbiz.
John told GMANetwork.com, “'Yung best lesson po na naturo ng mommy ko sa akin is bago maging magaling na artista, dapat maging mabait na tao muna and maging humble lang po always.
He added, “Tinuro niya rin po sa akin na kailangan mag-perform po ako hindi lang para magpa-impress, pero mag-inspire din ng mga tao.”
It has been a busy couple of weeks for John and the rest of Sparkle Teens, since they were officially launched last month.
He and James Graham recently appeared in the award-winning sitcom Pepito Manaloto, wherein John portrayed the role of prankster and basketball jock Jacob.
The chinito heartthrob was beyond grateful for the opportunities given to him and the rest of the Sparkle Teens this early on by GMA-7 and Sparkle GMA Artist Center.
He said, “Dream come true po talaga na sinasabak na rin kami sa guestings, matagal na po naming pinangarap 'yung moment na 'to na mabigyan po kami ng opportunity na makasama sa mga shows at nakaka-work din namin 'yung mga pinapanood namin sa TV dati.”
If given the chance to choose a TV show in the future, John said that doing a project like Voltes V: Legacy is something he really wants to be part of. The Kapuso newbie explained, “Isa po sa mga dream shows ngayon na I wanna be a part of is 'Voltes V: Legacy.' Dream ko po na maging action star at gustong-gusto ko po ma-experience magsuot n'ong flight suits nila.”
Aside from John and James, the other members of the Sparkle Teens are Zyren Dela Cruz, Josh Ford, Charlie Fleming, Princess Aliyah, Keisha Serna, Antonio Vinzon, Waynona Collings, Liana Mae, Naomi Park.
Also part of the promising group are Aya Domingo, Gaea Mischa, Selina Griffin, Marco Masa, Lee Victor, Bryce Eusebio, Ashley Sarmiento, and Aidan Veneracion.
