GMA, ABS-CBN stars, execs join forces to support 'Unbreak My Heart'

Unbreak My Heart--the historical collaboration between GMA Network, ABS-CBN, and Viu Philippines--is indeed breaking boundaries as some of the biggest stars of the industry gathered for one night to celebrate the series.

Last May 20, a celebrity watch party for the much-awaited romantic series was held at the Cinema 7 of the Trinoma Mall in Quezon City.

Before the celebrities and guests were treated to a sneak peak of Unbreak My Heart, the executives expressed their gratitude to the whole team for making the collaboration possible.

GMA Network SVP and GMA Films President Annette Gozon-Valdes thanked both ABS-CBN and Viu for being their partners for the project.

“Thank you to ABS-CBN. As I've said previously, we've always respected you as a superb content provider and with this project, you've proven again your excellence. We're very happy to be your partner in this project,” Gozon-Valdes said in her remarks.

To Viu, she said, “We'd like to thank Viu for also supporting this project and being our partner in this very memorable first co-production, which I hope won't be the last. The first of many to come.”

ABS-CBN President and CEO Carlo Katigbak looked back on their journey and how they have embraced partnerships when they lost their franchise.

“That loss also taught us to become a better company, a humbler company, and instead of doing everything on our own, it made us learn to embrace partnerships in our journey as storytellers. There's no better proof of that than this wonderful partnership we now have with GMA,” Katigbak said.

Katigbak added, “This is one of the best shows we have ever produced and it confirms what the Filipino can truly achieve, especially when two very talented teams choose to work together.”

Viu CEO Janice Lee said they are honored to be working with the two broadcast giants.

“This three-way partnership, I believe, is really going to be taking the Philippine productions to a whole new level, by combining our resources, creative people together,” she said.

According to Lee, the production will be streamed to the 16 markets of Viu across Southeast Asia, Middle East, and South Africa, with the platform's reach of over 66 million monthly active users and 12 million premium users.

Meanwhile, the red carpet of the event was graced by the executives, as well as some of the most prominent and the rising celebrities of the industry.

Among the stars who showed their support for Unbreak My Heart last Saturday were Alden Richards, Sanya Lopez, Coco Martin, Julia Montes, Cherry Pie Picache, John Arcilla, and Angel Aquino.

A number of Kapuso stars were also at the watch party including Jasmine Curtis-Smith, Ashley Ortega, Ysabel Ortega, Elijah Alejo, Radson Flores, Matt Lozano, Raphael Landicho, Arra San Agustin, Shuvee Etrata, Lexi Gonzales, and Gil Cuerva, among others.

Unbreak My Heart is topbilled by Joshua Garcia, Gabbi Garcia, Richard Yap, and Jodi Sta. Maria.

It also stars Laurice Guillen, Sunshine Cruz, Eula Valdes, Nikki Valdez, Romnick Sarmenta, Victor Neri, Will Ashley, Bianca de Vera, Jeremiah Lisbo, Maey Bautista, PJ Endrinal, Mark Rivera, and Marvin Yap.
