Renz Valerio, thankful for winning Male Child Star of the Year in Pepsters' Choice Awards

In the recent Pepsters Choice 2013, Kapuso youngster Renz Valerio was named one of the big winners when he earned the title Male Child Star of the Year.
According to Renz, this recognition came as a surprise. “Kasi po noong nag-start po ‘yung PEP list, may nagsabi lang po sa akin and hindi ko po siya masyadong napansin kasi busy ako sa taping tapos may school. Tapos, sabi ng fans kami na ang bahala. So ako, ‘sige kayo na bahala’. Biglang may text na nga lang na ako nga 'yung nanalo. So, wow thank you po,” he said
Renz revealed that he did not expect that his fans will do everything to get him the award with the help of social media. “Nakaka-overwhelm kasi nalaman ko ‘yung power ng social media and ng fans na gagawin nila ang lahat para manalo sa isang competition,”.
During the Pepster’s Choice, members of the press asked what he will do in order to push aside the “child star” image and move forward to the teen category.
“Nagpagupit ako ng mas pang-binata na, nagdamit na po ako ng pang-binata na,” he said.
“Siguro po dadating naman po tayo doon, darating po tayo sa time na mage-gets nila na binata na talaga ako,” he added.
