Pogi tips from Alden Richards

Alden Richards is one of today’s brightest stars and is also a certified crush ng bayan. With his dashing leading man looks and insatiable talent, he is the total package. For the matinee idol, pogi goes beyond looks. Pogi is a state of mind.

He shared that good hygiene is the most basic thing every guy should imbibe. Alden said, “Wash and wash your face everyday tapos maligo nang maligo. Iyan talaga ang number one, because if you feel good about yourself, it manifests.”

Another component of being pogi is a good attitude and a positive outlook. Alden said, “Everything starts from the inside. Kung ano iyong tingin mo sa sarili mo, it will reflect. Bottom line, confidence is the key.”

Of course, every guy has to take care of his body not just to look good but also to be healthy. On Alden’s part, he avoids eating carbohydrates and sweets. He also recommends downloading an exercise application for those with busy schedules like his.

Getting enough sleep is also another key to looking and feeling good. Alden stated, “Try to sleep for at least six hours a day, eight max. Sleep talaga iyong kulang sa aming mga artista. Since we lack sleep, the best thing to do is drink a lot of water, eat lots of vegetables, drink vitamins at saka rest as much as possible.”

Asked if he had a body peg, Alden said, “Siguro wala akong peg, pero gusto kong maka-achieve ng lean body na hindi naman sobrang batak na batak kasi mabilis mag-mature ‘pag ganoon.” He added that it would be ideal to have a built that looks good with or without a shirt on.

Like many guys, one of Alden’s frustrations is developing his abs. He said, “Ang hirap, lalo na ‘yung lower abs kasi ‘yung four pack, medyo madali lang ‘yun pero ‘yung baba, it takes time talaga to happen because you don’t use it as much.”

For this reason, Alden does ab exercises whenever he has free time. He mentioned that he also wants to develop his shoulders more. The Kapuso actor encouraged guys to hit the gym because it will benefit them in the long run.

He emphasized though that a healthy, balanced diet is still more important. He admitted that he has a weakness for bopis and sisig, but insisted that everything should be taken in moderation.

The Carmela leading man said, “Ang sarap lang na kapag tumimbang ka, you get to see the results of your hard work. Diet is a work in progress. You involve yourself, you make yourself work for something you want to achieve, so the reward is losing weight and gaining muscles.”
