GMA Pinoy TV named Media Champion by Digital Pilipinas

Manila, May 10, 2023 - GMA Pinoy TV has been inducted by Digital Pilipinas as their partner in further promoting Financial Literacy through their digitalization campaign to the OFWs and Filipino Immigrants and their families and dependents.

Digital Pilipinas, established in 2019, is a private sector-led movement that promotes the digitalization of the Philippine economy. It is composed of representatives from various industries and government and non-government organizations that champion innovation and inclusive growth for the Philippines. Among their recent projects are ”Philippine Fintech Festival” and “Philippines: The Digital Bridgeway to ASEAN and the World” wherein they partnered with Philippine Economic Zone Authority on opportunities brought by new and emerging technologies that can help position the Philippines as the digital bridgeway to ASEAN and the rest of the world.

Digital Pilipinas Convenor Amor Maclang said that they invited GMA Pinoy TV to be the Media Champion for the Global Pinoys in recognition of its efforts at promoting the interests of overseas Filipinos and their families through GMA international's GMA Pinoy TV, GMA Life TV, and GMA News TV.

“As we push for a global trajectory in bridging digital gaps in various key industries and spotlighting the Filipino talent all over the world, we warmly welcome GMA Pinoy TV into Digital Pilipinas”, said Maclang. 'In building a Digital Pilipinas, we believe that a champion like GMA Pinoy TV will be valuable in our mission to develop and build the Overseas Filipino community and their extended circle of family and friends, and can stand as our global champions for innovation.”

“We will also champion the anti-piracy campaign given the undeniable link between financial crimes and piracy. Our technology and cybersecurity experts in Digital Pilipinas will work closely with the stars of GMA Network to protect our country men, our OFWs from all too prevalent cyber-attacks through massive education and partnership in a whole of nation, whole of society approach to cybersecurity,” added Maclang.

The partnership was announced at the Tale of Two Governments: Philippines x Switzerland event at Microsoft Office, One Ayala West Tower, Makati City on May 10, 2023.
