By Bianca Geli

BLACKPINK member Jennie Kim was rumored to be offered a role for a project with Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Numerous media outlets shared unconfirmed reports claiming Jennie was invited to join the upcoming series Kingdom War-New Agents of Atlas where she was allegedly offered to portray the character of pop sensation and superhero Luna Snow. This character was first introduced in the video game “Marvel Super War'' in 2020 and was voiced by f(x)'s Luna.

YG Entertainment, BLACKPINK's music label, has responded to the rumors through a statement shared to the press saying, “It is not true that Jennie received an offer to star in a Marvel project.”

Neanwhile, the South Korean singer raised concern for fans after appearing unwell onstage for the Melbourne concert of their "Born Pink World Tour" recently. On June 11, Jennie left the stage mid performance due to health reasons.

YG stated, "We regret to inform you that during the BLACKPINK WORLD TOUR [BORN PINK] IN MELBOURNE performance on June 11, member Jennie was unable to complete the stage due to her deteriorating condition.

They added, "Jennie expressed her strong determination to carry on with the performance until the end. However, following medical advice on site, we immediately took measures to ensure she receives ample rest and stability."

"Jennie has conveyed her regrets for not being able to stay with the fans until the end, and assures that she will recover as soon as possible."

Jennie has just made her Hollywood debut through the drama The Idol, where she plays the role of Dyanne. The Idol premiered earlier this month and also stars Lily Rose-Depp, Troye Sivan, and Abel "The Weeknd" Tesfaye. Through this project, Jennie has attended the 76th Cannes Film Festival along with the cast.
