Jooheon pens a heartfelt message to his Monbebes and asked them to patiently wait for his return.

Monbebes are currently in a state of shock as K-pop boy band MONSTA X's Jooheon personally announces his military enlistment plans.

On July 11, Jooheon shared a heartfelt handwritten letter on MONSTA X's fan cafe and explained, “Hello, my dear MONBEBE. I think this year was spent really busy. That means that we spent more time with Monbebe and made more memories together, right? The positive smile and happiness of Monbebe, and the many lights created by you.”

“My heart is still filled with happiness because I was given all the love that you sent me during the time I spent with MONBEBE. The time spent with the members and all the fans is so precious and happy for me, so I wanted to spend this time only with you, so I finally told you about this today.”

Jooheon admitted, “Monbebe, I will join the military on July 24. I thought a lot about when I should talk about it. There's not much time left than I thought, so I'm very worried while writing about how all the fans might feel. I thought a lot about this.. Above all, I wanted Monbebe who came to fancon to smile happily at me, and I wanted to see those smiles. I wanted to do the same for you. That's why I'm sharing the news today. I'm sad about the time left and I'm worried about Monbebe who will think about it in the near future, but I think I'll write the same thing even if I turn back the time because I captured Monbebe happy faces.”

He assured fans, “Enlistment is something I have to do so I will come back healthily. I'm not leaving forever, so don't worry, look up at the sky every day and think about what I said and think of Jooheon at least a few times a day!! Okay? Thanks to Monbebe, I released a lot of energy and listen to the voices as we sing together, that's when I feel free. And I see myself evolved, the worry in the monologues I did myself is becoming happy.”

“I wanted to think about it and I hope tomorrow will be a better day for myself and Monbebe. Don't forget about the days and sweat that we shed passionately. I think I will be sad if you forget about them, okay? I'll show you my cool side and great performance when I come back. Think of this time as our comma. I'm going to take a comma time for a longer time together. I love you all day, I love you always, so in love with yourself thank you for letting me know about love. I love you Monbebe, From Jooheon,” he finally says.

The news came as a shock, especially for fans who attended their recent fan concert in Korea. During the event, MONSTA X asked Monbebes what their thoughts are if they embark on a world tour. Although there were no official plans announced yet, Monbebes were expecting to see five of the six members onstage, as Minhyuk is currently serving in the military.

Despite the shock and sadness, Monbebes wish nothing but the best for Jooheon and will patiently wait for his return. Check out some of their reactions below.
