Miss World Philippines

Succeeding winners of the Limgas Na Pangasinan pageant will now represent the province in Miss World Philippines.

Beauties from the province of Pangasinan now have a chance to jumpstart their pageant career as Pangasinan's provincial government now holds the local franchise for Miss World Philippines.

The announcement was made in a post on the Miss World Philippines Instagram account. In the caption, the organization said that this was made possible by “the tremendous efforts of the provincial government and Limgas Na Pangasinan 2023.” As the local franchise holder of Miss World Philippines, Limgas Na Pangasinan World will now be the one picking the province's representative to the Miss World Philippines pageant. The current Limgas Na Pangasinan titleholder, Nikhisa Buenafe Cheve, will be the province's official candidate for the upcoming Miss World Philippines pageant.

Competitors in the upcoming Miss World Philippines pageant will be competing to succeed current reigning Miss World Philippines Gwendolyne Fourniol, who is drumming up support for the advocacies she supports. Earlier this month, she sent out a call for donations on her Instagram account by explaining her initiative, #BridgeTheGapBuildTheFuture. The initiative seeks to raise funds and provide resources for the ERDA Foundation, a non-government organization that was founded in 1974 and “envisions a nation where all children and youth have access to quality education and holistic development in a supportive environment for them to have a better life.”

Aside from collecting supplies for the ERDA Foundation, Gwendolyn has also been raising funds for the ERDA Foundation's future Learning Hub in Baseco, Tondo.

Just recently, she attended the signing of a memorandum of agreement for the learning hub she is helping to build, sharing photos on her Instagram account of the “simple but meaningful” event. In the caption to the post, Gwendolyne shared how inspired she was by the story of ERDA Foundation's Father Pierre Tritz, who established a school for underpriviledged children that unfortunately had to close down during the COVID-19 pandemic. She said that his story pushed her to dream big for her countrymen just like he did.
