Newly-established pageant The Miss Philippines is already spreading its wings in the community as it recently announced a partnership with another pageant.
In a post on its official Instagram account, The Miss Philippines organization announced that it has established a partnership with the Miss Asia Pacific International organization. The Miss Asia Pacific International was first started in 1965 as a Miss Asia contest before becoming Miss Asia Pacific in 1984 and Miss Asia Pacific Quest in 1985 before becoming Miss Asia Pacific International. The pageant aims to promote Philippine tourism overseas, which mirrors The Miss Philippines pageant's own objectives.
In the caption to the announcement post, The Miss Philippines organization said one of the winning queens of The Miss Philippines pageant will compete in the Miss Asia Pacific International pageant.
Before this announcement, The Miss Philippines sister organization, the Miss Universe Philippines, teased the upcoming The Miss Philippines California. While no further details were provided, the Miss Universe Philippines organization raised the possibility of the next Miss Universe Philippines being a “Fil-Am beauty.”
Both The Miss Philippines and Miss Universe Philippines organizations are looking for successors to their currently reigning queens, The Miss Philippines Pauline Amelinckx and Miss Universe Philippines Michelle Dee.
While Pauline Amelinckx has begun the steps to establish herself as a host post-pageant, current reigning Miss Universe Philippines Michelle Dee is preparing hard for the upcoming Miss Universe coronation night in Ecuador on November 18.
In an interview aired on Unang Hirit, Michelle expressed her excitement about the Miss Universe coronation night and also shared that she and the Miss Universe Philippines team are polishing her performance for the pageant.
“Sabihin nating perfect na, mas kaya pang i-perfect. Obviously, I have so much trust in my team, I have much trust in the organization,” she said. “We all know I love giving a show and I love looking the part as well, so abangan niyo talaga.” Watch the whole video below.
