Jung Kook gives back to fans by holding a surprise show in Times Square in New York City.

After his new album spawned a number 1 hit, BTS member Jungkook decided he wanted to give back to his fans with a free surprise concert on Thursday night, November 9, in Times Square in New York City.

In a report from Deadline, it seems that the 26-year-old star performed at TSX Entertainment in Times Square, using the first permanent stage in the city, and performed several songs from his newest album, Golden.

The show was announced just a few hours prior which made the crowd manageable, and a countdown to the start of the event New Year's Eve style was shown before Jungkook appeared on stage.

Jungkook performed several songs, and opened with "Standing Next to You," "Yes or No," "3D," "Please Don't Change," and "Seven." Fans who were not in New York were able to watch the show on the BTS YouTube channel and the Xbox Twitch livestream.

Fans who tuned in from Xbox's Twitch channel also had the chance to win a custom Jungkook Xbox Series X console or Game Pass codes.

In a press statement, TSX Entertainment co-CEO Nick Holmsten expressed how honored they are to co-create the moment with Jungkook.

“His solo journey has already made history with multiple chart-topping singles, and we're fully confident that this album will continue the trend,” he said.

He added that Jungkook's show marks a pivotal moment in music, particularly for K-pop fans, and expressed how it holds great significance for both Times Square and New York City.
